The RIWATCH Arogya Centre organised a free health camp in Arunachal Pradesh’s Lower Dibang Valley district, providing essential healthcare services to residents of remote communities. The initiative focused on improving access to medical care while promoting awareness of preventive healthcare and traditional Ayurvedic treatment.
Medical Officer Dr. Techi Yumyi, along with her team, examined and treated 39 patients suffering from chronic health conditions, including high blood pressure, arthritis and gastric disorders. Most of the beneficiaries were senior citizens above the age of 60. In addition to medical consultations and health check-ups, patients received free Ayurvedic medicines to support their treatment and overall wellbeing.
During the camp, Dr. Yumyi educated villagers about the benefits of Panchakarma therapy, describing it as a safe and effective traditional healing system that supports preventive healthcare, pain management and long-term wellness. She encouraged eligible patients to consider the therapy and highlighted its role in improving quality of life without harmful side effects.
The medical team also advised participants on maintaining a balanced diet, adopting healthy lifestyle practices and taking preventive measures to manage chronic illnesses. According to the organisers, the health camp is part of RIWATCH Arogya Centre’s ongoing outreach programme to deliver quality healthcare and Ayurvedic wellness services to underserved and remote areas. The initiative reflects the centre’s commitment to improving rural healthcare access and promoting holistic health across Lower Dibang Valley.
