Ambani’s Reliance Consumer Products To Invest Crores in Tamil Nadu To Set Up Manufacturing Facility

Reliance Consumer Products Limited is set to invest ₹1,156 crore to establish an integrated manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, according to State Industries Minister TRB Rajaa. In a post on X, he shared that the facility will be located at SIPCOT Allikulam Industrial Park in Thoothukudi and will create 2,000 local jobs over the next five years.

Spread across 60 acres, the facility will focus on producing a variety of goods including regional snacks, biscuits, spices, atta, and edible oil. Minister Rajaa praised Chief Minister MK Stalin’s leadership under the Dravidian Model for attracting major national FMCG players to the state, highlighting Tamil Nadu’s growing industrial strength.

In a further boost to the state’s economy, two major Central Government PSUs—Cochin Shipyard Ltd and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd—are investing a combined ₹30,000 crore to build advanced Greenfield shipyards, expected to generate 55,000 jobs. BJP leader Amit Malviya noted this development will transform Tamil Nadu into a global maritime hub.

Meanwhile, Reliance Industries has consolidated its consumer brands—covering apparel, food, and personal care—under a new subsidiary, New Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), as it prepares for a retail IPO.
