Papum Pare sets up monitoring panels to check LPG supply, crack down on hoarding

The district administration of Papum Pare in Arunachal Pradesh has formed special monitoring committees to regulate the supply and distribution of LPG cylinders and petroleum products. Officials said the move is aimed at preventing hoarding and black marketing while ensuring steady availability of essential fuel in the district.According to an official notification issued on March 24, the committees have been set up to closely watch the supply chain of LPG and petroleum, oil and lubricants (POL). The administration said the decision was taken in view of the current international energy situation and the need to maintain proper control over fuel distribution at the local level.

Officials said each committee will monitor supply and distribution within its assigned area. The panels will ensure that LPG cylinders and petroleum products reach consumers without delay and that no irregular practices take place. The move comes after the district administration recently advised residents not to panic or overbook LPG cylinders. Authorities said there is no shortage of supply and urged people to avoid unnecessary stockpiling.“We are maintaining adequate supply, and there is no need for panic booking,” an official said, adding that the administration is keeping a close watch on the situation.

The administration has also issued a strong warning against hoarding and black marketing. Officials said strict action will be taken against anyone found storing excess cylinders, manipulating prices or engaging in illegal sale of fuel.Sources in the administration said the monitoring system is expected to bring more transparency in the supply chain and help prevent artificial shortages created by illegal practices.
