Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. Gen K T Parnaik extended his heartfelt congratulations to Kabak Yano for her remarkable achievement in scaling Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak.”This is a moment of immense pride for the people of Arunachal Pradesh,” remarked the Governor in a statement released on Wednesday.Highlighting Yano’s conquest of Mount Everest as a testament to the resilience, courage, adventurous spirit, enterprise, and talent of the daughters of the state, the Governor expressed confidence that her accomplishment would serve as an inspiration for the youth of Arunachal Pradesh to strive for excellence in their chosen endeavors. Parnaik also lauded the National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS) at Dirang in West Kameng district for its role in nurturing Yano’s talents, noting that she had completed her advanced mountaineering training at the institute.
Emphasizing the institute’s success in identifying and nurturing talented youth, the Governor commended NIMAS for its contribution to the field of mountaineering.Currently pursuing her studies at Rashtriya Raksha University’s Pasighat campus in East Siang district, Yano boasts an impressive repertoire of mountaineering accomplishments. She has successfully completed the Basic Mountaineering Course from the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) in Darjeeling, in addition to the advanced mountaineering course and the search & rescue course from NIMAS.Yano, along with six other mountaineers from a Nepal-based trekking and mountaineering agency, reached the summit of Mt. Everest on Tuesday, marking a historic achievement.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu also joined in extending his congratulations to Kabak Yano for her extraordinary feat.In a social media post, Khandu hailed Yano’s journey from Arunachal Pradesh to the pinnacle of the world’s highest peak as a testament to her dedication and perseverance. He lauded her successful completion of rigorous mountaineering courses and her prior accomplishments in scaling Mt. UT Kangri, and nearly conquering Mt. Nun. Khandu expressed his admiration for Yano’s inspiring achievements and extended his best wishes for her future endeavors.
