The inaugural ceremony of the newly constructed Golden Jubilee Model School Building at Gensi was held at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Gensi in Lower Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday.
The event was inaugurated by Arunachal Pradesh Minister for Education P. D. Sona. He was accompanied by Kardo Nyigyor, Deputy Speaker of Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly; Gobi Nyigyor, Deputy Commissioner, Lower Siang; Dr Taikio Teyiarh, Commanding Officer, 188 MH, 56 Infantry Division, Indian Army, along with Heads of Departments and other dignitaries.
During the programme, minister Sona formally inaugurated the new school building and interacted with teachers as well as members of the School Management Committee (SMC), emphasising the importance of quality education and infrastructure development in rural areas.
On the occasion, the Minister also inaugurated multiple RCC bridge projects under the Gensi Circle, constructed under the Rural Works Department (RWD), Likabali Division. These include: four RCC bridges from Garu to Gensi; one RCC bridge from Gensi to Litemori and one RCC bridge from Diten to Siberite.
These developmental projects are expected to significantly improve connectivity and boost socio-economic growth in the region.
The programme witnessed the presence of officials, local leaders, teachers, and members of the public, marking a significant milestone in the development of infrastructure and education in Lower Siang district.
