Take-Two CEO Urges Fans to Subscribe to Netflix for Exclusive Early Look at GTA 6

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has encouraged gamers to sign up for Netflix ahead of the upcoming gameplay reveal for Grand Theft Auto VI. In a recent interview with IGN, Zelnick addressed Rockstar Games’ unprecedented partnership with the streaming platform, which grants Netflix a six-hour exclusive window to broadcast “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look” on August 27, 2026, at 3 PM ET before it lands on YouTube and official channels. Defending the controversial strategy, Zelnick stated, “If you’re not a Netflix subscriber, you definitely should be one,” while framing the event as a novel marketing push designed to test new distribution avenues for the industry’s most anticipated title. Referring to the preview as an “extended trailer,” Zelnick described the footage as merely “one of the hors d’oeuvres” in a multi-stage campaign leading up to the game’s scheduled November 19 launch. While the exclusive window has drawn mixed reactions from fans reluctant to pay for a subscription to watch promotional material early, Take-Two views the collaboration as a groundbreaking way to reach Netflix’s vast global audience alongside traditional gaming channels.
