Lipin Ete, hailing from Kugi Pomte village in the West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, achieved significant recognition at the USA Open 2026 Karate Championship, held from April 1 to 5 at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Texas, USA. Competing on behalf of India, Lipin made history as the first karate athlete from Arunachal Pradesh as well as the Northeast to not only participate but also earn medals at this prestigious international event, taking home both a gold and a silver medal. Her remarkable performance showcased her exceptional skill, determination, and dedication, further enhancing India’s profile in global martial arts competitions.
Lipin is the daughter of Senior Veterinary Officer Dr. Marli Ete and Emi Tayu Ete, and her success is attributed to her rigorous training regimen and unwavering support from her family.
