Arunachal Deputy CM inaugurates new hostel at Ramakrishna Mission School in Tirap

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein inaugurated a newly constructed boys’ hostel at the Ramakrishna Mission School in Tirap district, marking a step towards strengthening residential facilities for students in the region. The hostel, named Abhedananda Bhavan, has been built to improve accommodation for students, especially those coming from remote areas. With this addition, the institution is expected to expand its intake and provide better support to students pursuing education away from home.

Addressing the gathering, Mein spoke about the school’s journey since its establishment in 1972. He said the institution has grown steadily over the years and has become a known centre for value-based education in the state. He noted that many students from the school have gone on to perform well in national-level competitive exams like NEET and JEE. He also highlighted the wider role of the Ramakrishna Mission in Arunachal Pradesh, pointing to its work in education, healthcare and community service. He said the efforts of the Mission’s monks have played an important role in guiding students and supporting social development in different parts of the state.

The Deputy Chief Minister said the new hostel will help the school accommodate more students and improve overall infrastructure. He added that the state government will continue to support institutions that contribute to education and youth development. Ministers Pasang Dorjee Sona and Wangki Lowang, along with MLA Wanglin Lowangdong, were present at the event. Senior members of the Mission, including Swami Sarvalokananda and Swami Achyuteshananda, also attended the programme along with monks, students and local residents.
