Authorities in Arunachal Pradesh’s Seppa carried out a joint operation against child labour in different commercial establishments and rescued seven minor children during the drive. Officials said the inspection was conducted across several parts of Seppa Market, where teams checked garages, car wash centres and shops suspected of employing children for labour work.
The operation was led by Tashi W. Thongdok along with Labour and Employment Officer Ashok Sonam. Members of the Child Welfare Committee, district administration, police and child protection officials also took part in the drive. Among those involved in the operation were Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Chacho D. Bagang, Sub-Inspector D. Tachang and his police team, as well as District Child Protection Unit Protection Officer Katung Gyadi.
During the inspection, officials identified seven minors who were allegedly engaged in child labour at different commercial establishments in the town. The children were rescued from the locations during the coordinated crackdown.
