Nyato Dukam Calls for Coordination and Strong Governance in East Siang

East Siang Guardian Minister Nyato Dukam on Thursday reviewed the developmental progress of various departments in the district and stressed the need for unity, coordination and teamwork among all stakeholders to ensure effective governance and improved public service delivery.

Chairing a review meeting in East Siang district, the minister assessed ongoing projects and discussed key challenges in the implementation of government schemes. He emphasised that while the creation of social and physical infrastructure is important, equal priority must be given to their maintenance for long-term and sustainable development. He noted that development becomes meaningful only when public assets are preserved for future generations.

Dukam also expressed concern over the growing drug menace among youth and called for coordinated efforts from all departments and stakeholders to address the issue effectively. He further highlighted the importance of efficient revenue collection for the smooth functioning and development of both the state and the nation.

Referring to Arunachal Pradesh’s rapid developmental phase, the minister urged that progress should not be obstructed by vested interests. He directed the district administration to take strict measures to prevent encroachment on government land.

He also encouraged Panchayati Raj institutions to effectively utilise their powers for public welfare and development. The minister called upon officials and elected representatives to remain proactive in delivering services for the benefit of citizens.

During the meeting, local MLAs highlighted issues including shortage of subject teachers, waste management challenges, land encroachment, and the need for funds to restore infrastructure damaged by recent floods. The Deputy Commissioner also presented a detailed report on the district’s developmental achievements and ongoing projects.
