Apatani’s Next Top Model 2026 Celebrates Indigenous Fashion Talent in Hija

Tadu Bini from Mudang Tage village and Nani Hao from Bulla village were crowned winners in the female and male categories, respectively, at Apatani’s Next Top Model 2026, held at Hija village in Lower Subansiri district on Thursday evening. The grand finale witnessed enthusiastic participation and celebrated emerging talent from the region.

In the female category, Hano Sumpi from Bamin village secured the first runner-up position, while Hage Konya from Hari village finished as second runner-up. In the male category, Mihin Lento from Tajang village and Tallo Doding from Hong village were declared first and second runners-up respectively.

Several subtitle awards were also presented during the event. The winners included Tapi Kanya for Best Runway Walk, Hibu Omang for Best Presence, Tage Chado as Mr Popular, Kago Kaku as Miss Popular, Hiinyo Rilung for Emerging Model Talent, Pura Kalyang for Best Contemporary Styling, Dani Nuri for Best Photogenic, and Koj Nampi for Best Traditional Interpretation.

Winners were felicitated with trophies, cash prizes, certificates, and mementoes by invited guests and fashion professionals.

The grand finale, themed “Colours of Apatani,” featured finalists showcasing both traditional Apatani attire and modern fusion designs. The event also served as a platform for indigenous designers, weavers, and artisans to highlight their creativity and craftsmanship, promoting local culture and fashion innovation in the region.
