The Adi Ba Kebang Youth Wing (ABKYW-Apex) has urged the Arunachal Pradesh government and concerned departments to take immediate steps to restore road connectivity and drinking water facilities in flood-affected villages of East Siang district.
ABKYW-Apex president Narmi Oki Dai said members of the youth wing recently inspected flood-hit areas and witnessed the difficulties faced by residents. He particularly highlighted the situation in Korang and Sido villages, where damaged roads and disrupted water supply continue to affect daily life.
The youth wing also announced that it has distributed Rs 4.17 lakh in relief assistance to flood-affected families across the district. The funds were raised through a voluntary online contribution drive launched after the devastating floods that hit the region on June 28.
According to ABKYW-Apex, the one-day fundraising initiative received support from individuals and organisations across Namsai, Yingkiong, Boleng, Pasighat, and Itanagar. The assistance was prioritised for families whose wet rice cultivation fields and houses suffered major damage, with financial support provided based on the extent of losses.
Relief assistance was distributed among villages including Sido, Korang, Bilat, Boying, Mongku, Ledum, Mirem, and Rasam. The youth wing expressed gratitude to all contributors and appealed for coordinated efforts to restore essential services and support affected communities in rebuilding their lives.
