Peaceful Panchayat Elections conducted across Keyi Panyor district in Arunachal Pradesh

The Panchayat elections in Arunachal Pradesh’s Keyi Panyor district were held peacefully on December 15, with polling completed smoothly across the district. Officials confirmed that voting took place without any disturbance in all six Zilla Parishad segments, reflecting a calm and orderly election process. According to the district administration, a total of 46 polling stations were set up across Keyi Panyor district. All polling stations functioned normally throughout the day, and no untoward incident was reported from any location. Voters turned up in good numbers and were able to cast their votes freely in a safe and secure environment. The elections were conducted under the overall supervision of District Election Officer Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta, IAS.

She was assisted by the Deputy District Election Officer and Superintendent of Police Angad Mehta, IPS. Officials said that proper planning, close monitoring, and timely coordination between different departments helped ensure smooth polling. Adequate security arrangements were made by the district police, especially in areas identified as sensitive. Police personnel remained alert throughout the polling hours, which played an important role in maintaining law and order and building confidence among voters. The district election administration expressed appreciation for the efforts of polling personnel, including presiding officers, polling officers, returning and assistant returning officers, sector magistrates, sector police officers and other police staff. Many officials were deployed at short notice, yet they carried out their duties with commitment and discipline.

Special mention was also made of the election branch led by the ADC-cum-Deputy DEO, nodal officers, and the district police team for their coordinated work. Officials noted that even in areas where logistical challenges were anticipated, effective cooperation between the civil administration and police prevented any problems. The district administration also acknowledged the cooperation extended by political parties and candidates, which helped maintain a peaceful atmosphere during the elections.
