Ahead of the 77th Republic Day, painting and essay competitions were organised at Lok Bhavan by the Governor’s Secretariat, witnessing enthusiastic participation from school children across Arunachal Pradesh. Students from institutions including Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing and Visually Impaired, Chimpu, and Oju Mission, Naharlagun, added vibrancy, creativity and inclusivity to the celebrations.
The competitions were initiated by the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik, with the objective of encouraging meaningful youth participation in national celebrations. The initiative sought to nurture patriotic values, promote creative expression and instil civic consciousness among young minds in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The essay competition explored themes such as Unity in Diversity: Strength of India, Children as Responsible Citizens, and Our Constitution: Our Pride. The painting competition highlighted the role of youth in development and nation-building. Winners will receive their prizes from the Governor at the ‘At Home’ function on Republic Day.
