The Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) and a NABARD-funded Rural Mart along with Mother’s Kitchens were inaugurated at the Walk Through Market in Tawang on Thursday.
Tawang Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo inaugurated the facilities aimed at empowering women, promoting local cuisine and strengthening rural livelihoods.
The programme was organised by ArSRLM (Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission) Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU), Tawang.
Out of 18 registered Mother’s Kitchens, nine units participated, showcasing a variety of traditional local dishes.
The Rural Mart, managed by Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) of Tawang, offers a wide range of local food products, snacks, and handicraft items for sale.
On the occasion, the Tawang DC appealed to all departments and the general public to avail the catering services of Mother’s Kitchens for both official and private events.
The programme was also attended by the ADC Tawang, Rinchin Leta and other Heads of Offices.
