Expert mountaineer Kabak Yano of Arunachal Pradesh has successfully climbed Mount Aconcagua in Argentina, the highest peak in South America, as part of her ongoing mission to conquer the highest mountains on every continent. As part of her planned 7-peak Mountaineering Expedition, she ascended the peak on February 1. Mount Aconcagua is the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere, rising 22,831 feet above sea level. The accomplishment is a significant turning point in Yano’s inspirational path, which has been characterized by bravery, tenacity, and resolve.Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Lt. Gen. K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) complimented Yano on her outstanding achievement. The governor praised her unwavering determination and unwavering focus, saying that her journey is not just a personal victory but also a potent source of motivation for the state’s children. “Her success shows how self-belief, discipline, and perseverance can help overcome even the toughest challenges,” he said.
The governor expressed optimism that Yano’s accomplishment would inspire young people to participate in sports and adventurous activities, saying that many would be inspired to give their aspirations new life. Recall that on July 28, 2025, in front of Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Kento Jini, Governor Parnaik officially launched Yano’s 7-Summit trip from Lok Bhavan. Yano, a renowned Everest climber from Arunachal Pradesh, has already made great strides in the task. On August 4, 2025, she successfully ascended Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania; on August 16, 2025, she scaled Europe’s highest peak, Mount Elbrus.In the esteemed 7-Summit challenge, participants ascend the highest peaks on each continent, including Mount Everest in Asia.Denali (North America), Kilimanjaro (Africa), Mount Elbrus (Europe), Vinson Massif (Antarctica), Aconcagua (South America), and either Puncak Jaya or Mount Kosciuszko (Oceania). It is regarded as one of the hardest climbing achievements and has only been achieved by a small number of climbers worldwide.
