Sterlite EdIndia Foundation Supports Namsai District in Strengthening School Monitoring through ‘Hamara Vidyalay’ App

An awareness and culmination event on the Hamara Vidyalay App was organised at the Multipurpose Cultural Hall in Namsai to promote the effective use of the digital platform for monitoring teacher attendance and tracking student performance across schools in the district. The initiative is supported by Sterlite EdIndia Foundation. The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Namsai C.R. Khampa, Deputy Director of School Education Pokdey Yomgam, and District Planning Officer Keshab Sharma, along with district education officials, school leaders and administrators from across the district.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Director of School Education Pokdey Yomgam said, “Schools are shaped by the people who lead them. Headmasters and teachers must set an example through discipline and commitment. Accurate and timely data entry on the Hamara platform will help strengthen both schools and the education system.” District Planning Officer Keshab Sharma emphasised the role of technology in education, noting that digital tools and consistent classroom engagement can improve learning outcomes.

The programme also served as the Hamara Vidyalay Appreciation Programme, recognising schools and educators for their efforts in strengthening academic management and digital adoption. Several schools received ₹20,000 cash awards, trophies and certificates under the Digital Champion Award and Committed Classroom Award categories.The event began with a welcome address and felicitation ceremony led by Smt. Khyati Ved, Chief Manager (Operations), Sterlite EdIndia Foundation, and was hosted by Smti. Sushila Gurung, DTO of the Department of Education, Namsai.

Ven. Sivali Bhante, Director of Mahabodhi Lord Buddha College, appreciated the Foundation for signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the institution and highlighted the transformative role of education in promoting equality within communities.

A brief report on the selection criteria for the awards was presented by Pankaj Gurav, Assistant Manager (Operations), Sterlite EdIndia Foundation. In Itanagar, the growing use of digital platforms such as the Hamara Vidyalay App reflects a wider shift toward technology-driven education management across Arunachal Pradesh. Education stakeholders and service providers in Itanagar say digital monitoring tools are increasingly becoming important for improving school governance and academic accountability across the state.
