First-Ever Arunachal Sports Carnival Inaugurated At Aalo

The first ever Arunachal Sports Carnival 2026 was inaugurated at Aalo in West Siang district on Friday.
State Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Kento Jini graced the occasion as chief guest.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Jini said that the two-day Arunachal Sports Carnival was a landmark event in West Sinag district which has produced many sportspersons who have excelled at the state, national and global events.
“Games and sports play a vital role in shaping good health in life. West Siang has immense scope for tourism and adventure sports such as white-water rafting, trekking, zip lining, etc,” the minister said.
He urged the youths of West Siang district to give more emphasis on games and sports.
The minister further informed that the Aalo stadium would soon be renovated soon and that fundas have been sanctioned for the purpose.
“Many developmental projects for Aalo Township will be undertaken very soon,” he said.
Demonstration of mixed martial arts, kick boxing, wrestling, cultural show, exhibition featured during the inaugural day. The sports carnival will also feature events such as zip lining, trekking, white water rafting, cultural nights, etc.
Earlier, Gumnya Karbak, Director, Sports Authority of Arunachal Pradesh, while welcoming the gathering, said that Arunachal Pradesh has immense potential for sports. He urged the State government to make the Arunachal Sports Carnival a calendar event.
