Arunachal Home Minister takes holy dip at Sangam, urges participation in Maha Kumbh

Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Mama Natung, accompanied by his wife Manaki Natung, took a holy dip at the sacred Sangam during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. The couple also participated in a “yagya” at the ashram of Govardhan Math Peethadheeshwar Shankaracharya Swami Adhokshajanand Devtirth, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the event. Expressing his feelings, Natung stated, “This is my first visit to the Maha Kumbh, and it is an overwhelming experience. I urge everyone to come, take a dip in the Ganga, and seek blessings from saints and seers who have gathered from across the country.”

The Maha Kumbh, held once every 144 years, has drawn millions of devotees. Natung commended Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the excellent arrangements, ensuring a smooth experience for pilgrims.Reflecting on Northeast India’s progress, Natung highlighted significant developments under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. “The Northeast has witnessed unprecedented growth in highways, railways, and digital infrastructure. Border villages are no longer seen as the last in the country but as the first,” he said. Manaki Natung, sharing her experience, remarked, “I have heard about the Kumbh Mela since childhood, but participating in the Maha Kumbh is truly an honor.”

Swami Adhokshajanand Devtirth emphasized the spiritual potency of rituals performed during the Maha Kumbh, calling it a unique opportunity for blessings and transformation. Arunachal Pradesh, sharing borders with Myanmar, China, and Bhutan, continues to benefit from initiatives aimed at strengthening its border areas. The Maha Kumbh visit underscores the spiritual and cultural ties that bind India’s diverse regions.
