Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has established its 67th Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) at the Government Industrial Training Institute in Aizwal, Mizoram. The initiative, launched in collaboration with the Government of Mizoram and Zote Toyota, aims to enhance youth employability through technical training in automotive skills.
The program includes a STAR Scholarship component, offering up to Rs 51,000 annually to economically disadvantaged students. TKM has invested over Rs 1.5 million in infrastructure, e-learning content, and training equipment. The program will expand to cover 10 additional states and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Since T-TEP’s inception in 2006, over 13,000 students have been trained, with more than 70% securing employment in the automotive sector. The initiative supports India’s ‘Skill India’ and ‘Make in India’ missions by providing industry-relevant technical education to rural students.
