A decade ago, one of England’s most popular stars, David Beckham, retired from his career as a player. Although he has hung up his boots, he has not severed ties with the football world; rather, his involvement is increasing day by day. In tandem with this, his wealth is also growing. According to the Sunday Times survey, Beckham is now Britain’s first billionaire sportsman.
The combined wealth of David Beckham—former star of English Premier League club Manchester United, La Liga club Real Madrid, and co-owner of Major League Soccer club Inter Miami—and his wife Victoria Beckham stands at 1.185 billion pounds.
At the top of Britain’s richest sports organizers list is the family of former Formula One executive Bernie Ecclestone, whose wealth amounts to 2 billion pounds. Beckham occupies the second position. Apart from the income generated from Inter Miami, Beckham also earns as a brand ambassador for corporations like Adidas and Hugo Boss.
A major share of his wife Victoria’s wealth comes from her self-named established fashion brand. While Beckham’s income has increased over the last 12 months, the income of Manchester United co-owner Jim Ratcliffe has decreased. According to information from the list compilers, Ratcliffe’s current wealth stands at 1.51 billion pounds, placing him seventh on the rich list. It is worth noting that until now, the only name on the billionaire footballers’ list was Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo. David Beckham’s name has now been added to this list as the second individual.
