Commercial LPG cylinder prices have gone up in several major cities across the country from Tuesday, September 1. Oil marketing companies have increased the prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 9.50 in several key cities, adding to the cost burden for businesses that rely on these cylinders for cooking.
The highest increase has been recorded in Kolkata, where the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has gone up by Rs 11.50. In cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Gurgaon, Noida, Chandigarh and Lucknow, the price has been increased by Rs 9.50.
Meanwhile, there has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders for the third consecutive month, providing relief to household consumers. According to the latest rates, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi will now cost Rs 2,747.50, up from Rs 2,738.
In Chennai, the price has increased from Rs 2,906 to Rs 2,916.50 per cylinder. In Mumbai, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder has risen to Rs 2,701. Kolkata has witnessed the steepest hike of Rs 11.50, taking the price to Rs 2,884 per cylinder.
Commercial LPG prices have also increased by Rs 10 in cities such as Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru. In Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar, among other cities, the price has gone up by Rs 11.
The latest price revision is expected to have a direct impact on restaurants, hotels, eateries, sweet shops and other businesses that use commercial LPG cylinders for cooking. Higher LPG prices could add to their operating expenses and may also put pressure on food costs.
However, the price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder has remained unchanged in the latest monthly revision. This means household consumers will continue to pay the existing rate for domestic cooking gas.In Patna, the price of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder remains above the Rs 3,000 mark, making it the most expensive among the cities mentioned in the latest revision.
In Gurgaon, Noida, Chandigarh and Lucknow, the price has increased by Rs 9.50. The new rates stand at Rs 2,764.50 in Gurgaon, Rs 2,747.50 in Noida and Rs 2,769.50 in Chandigarh, while the rate in Lucknow has also been revised upward.Meanwhile, Jaipur has recorded a Rs 10.50 increase in the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder. The latest revision is part of the monthly price adjustment carried out by oil marketing companies.
