Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein inaugurated a state-of-the-art Do It Yourself (DIY) laboratory at the Arunachal Pradesh Innovation and Investment Park (APIIP) in Arunachal Pradesh, marking a significant push towards strengthening the state’s startup and innovation ecosystem. The inauguration was followed by a startup investment pitching session attended by investors, entrepreneurs, and government officials.
The newly launched DIY lab is equipped with advanced prototyping facilities, including 3D printers, electronic tools, food quality testing equipment, and a dedicated branding zone. The facility is designed to help startups develop, test, and refine products before scaling them for commercial production, thereby improving market readiness and innovation capacity.
Addressing the gathering, Mein highlighted the transformation of Arunachal Pradesh and said the state’s youth are increasingly moving forward with confidence, supported by government initiatives that promote entrepreneurship and skill development. He reiterated the APIIP vision of creating “job givers instead of job seekers” and acknowledged Arunachal Pradesh’s recognition as the best performing state in the National Startup Ranking 2025.
He also praised the state’s ease of doing business reforms, including the single-window clearance system, and stressed the need for full departmental integration to ensure smoother processes for investors and startups. Mein further announced plans for a new APIIP building in the next financial year and said the proposal for a state-backed venture fund would be positively considered.
The pitching session saw participation from multiple venture capital firms and incubation experts, while 13 startups presented their ideas to potential investors. Stakeholders emphasised the need for stronger funding support and collaboration to accelerate startup growth in the region.
The event concluded with a networking session aimed at fostering long-term partnerships, mentorship, and investment opportunities for emerging entrepreneurs in Arunachal Pradesh.
