OnePlus Rejects India Exit Rumors, Clarifies Operations and Product Lineup Remain Unaffected

Smartphone maker OnePlus has firmly dismissed online rumors suggesting an imminent exit from the Indian market or the cancellation of its upcoming flagship OnePlus 16. Speculation mounted after industry reports claimed that parent company Oppo was planning a broader global restructuring—including exiting Western markets and potentially scaling back in India by 2027 due to rising component costs and shifting market dynamics. The unverified claims quickly sparked concern among tech enthusiasts and consumers about the availability of future flagship devices, such as the OnePlus 16.

In response to the growing buzz, OnePlus India issued an official statement dismissing the rumors as “unverified speculation” and reiterating its commitment to the country. The company emphasized that its Indian operations continue “as usual” with all business tracks, localized after-sales services, and product roadmap launches remaining fully on schedule. While parent company Oppo is streamlining global resources—including transitioning OxygenOS to ColorOS globally to accelerate software updates—OnePlus maintained that its presence in India, its largest market outside of China, remains strong and unaffected.
