IND vs SL: Trouble for Another Sri Lankan Star as ICC Takes Disciplinary Action After Jaiswal-Fernando Saga

The disciplinary action continues in the India vs Sri Lanka second Test, with Sri Lanka spinner Prabath Jayasuriya becoming the latest player to face an ICC sanction.

Jayasuriya was officially reprimanded after being found guilty of breaching Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct following his dismissal in Sri Lanka’s first innings.

After being dismissed by India spinner Manav Suthar on the final ball of Day 2, Jayasuriya struck the boundary wedges with his bat while walking back to the pavilion.

The incident earned him one demerit point, marking his first offence in a 24-month period.

This comes a day after India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sri Lanka pacer Asitha Fernando were fined 25 per cent of their match fees for their on-field altercation. Both players were also handed one demerit point each.
