East Siang Deputy Commissioner Sonalika Jiwani directed heads of departments to complete all assigned developmental works within stipulated timelines without compromising quality at a District Level Monitoring Committee-cum-District Development Review meeting held in Pasighat. Reviewing the progress of development works and departmental activities, the DC asked departments to submit updated reports on the handing and taking over of government assets following the creation of Lower Siang district, including assets transferred to Lower Siang and those retained by East Siang. She also directed departments to provide details of Land Possession Certificates for departmental land to help protect government property from encroachment. In view of recent wildfire incidents, Jiwani called for intensified public awareness on fire safety, preventive measures and timely reporting. While reviewing infrastructure projects, she stressed the use of quality construction materials and directed officials to ensure that school and other educational buildings are durable, spacious and suitable for students. The meeting also discussed the water crisis in Forest Colony, Pasighat, with PMC Chief Councillor Tagom Padung seeking early intervention from the district administration and concerned departments. DDSE East Siang Odhuk Tabing highlighted the shortage of Mathematics and Science teachers and sought administrative support to maintain teaching continuity in schools, particularly over the next five months. The DC urged all HoDs to extend necessary support and ensure timely completion of ongoing activities so that government schemes and public services reach beneficiaries effectively.
