The final electoral roll for Arunachal Pradesh was published on September 22, recording a total of 6,96,026 voters, a decline of 1,91,479 electors from the pre-Special Intensive Revision (SIR) figure.
According to election officials, the final roll comprises 3,43,709 male voters, 3,52,315 female voters, and two third-gender electors. The state’s gender ratio stands at 1,025 women for every 1,000 men.
Officials also stated that 43.61 per cent of registered voters possess either a physical or digital Voter ID card.
The Special Intensive Revision exercise began on June 5. The draft electoral roll published on July 21 contained 7,18,046 electors, including 6,32,871 mapped as self or progeny and 85,175 classified as unmapped.
To verify voter details, election authorities issued notices to all unmapped electors as well as 1,33,413 voters identified with logical discrepancies. Altogether, 2,18,588 notices were served during the verification process.
Subsequently, officials conducted hearings and reviewed documents submitted by electors along with undertakings provided by booth-level officers.
During the claims and objections period, which ran from July 21 to August 20, authorities received 18,598 applications. As a result, 8,803 electors were added to the draft roll, while 1,924 names were deleted.
The final electoral roll reflects a significant reduction in the electorate from 8,87,505 voters before the SIR exercise to 6,96,026 voters.
Election authorities said voters aggrieved by the final roll may file an appeal before the district magistrate within 15 days of its publication. A second appeal can be submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer within 30 days of the district magistrate’s decision.
Meanwhile, the final electoral roll for service voters was also published on Tuesday, showing a total of 5,552 service electors registered in the state.
