In a historic development for local governance, Iter Bam of New Bam Village has been elected unopposed as the Zilla Parishad Member (ZPM) from the 11A Basar Zilla Segment, making her the youngest representative to assume the post in the region. Bam contested on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket.
At just 29 years old, Bam comes with a strong academic background, holding a BA (Honours) and MA in History, a B.Ed degree, and a Diploma in Yoga.
