Spearhead Division of Spearcorps Swiftly Contains Forest Fire at Tongkorla, Menchuka

A forest fire was reported at Tongkorla, Menchuka, following a request for assistance from a local landowner. Responding promptly, the Indian Army immediately mobilised a Quick Reaction Team (QRT) from the nearest battalion to tackle the situation.

The QRT, reached the site without delay and undertook coordinated firefighting operations under difficult terrain and weather conditions. Through swift action, discipline and professional competence, the team successfully contained the fire, preventing potential loss to human life, property and surrounding forest cover.

The timely response once again underscored the Indian Army’s role as a dependable first responder in remote and sensitive regions, working in close synergy with civil administration and local communities during emergencies.
