The upcoming INDIAWOOD 2026, scheduled from February 26 to March 2 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bengaluru, offers a clear economic signal of India’s strengthening position in the global woodworking and furniture manufacturing value chain. Organised by NürnbergMesse India and supported by EUMABOIS, the 26th edition is set to be the largest since the event’s inception.
With over 1,000 brands from more than 50 countries, participation by 90,000+ industry professionals, and an expanded exhibition footprint of 85,000 square metres up 15 per cent from the previous edition the scale reflects rising global confidence in India’s manufacturing competitiveness. This expansion aligns with the Viksit Bharat vision, where advanced manufacturing, exports and global integration are key growth drivers.
From a macroeconomic perspective, momentum is being reinforced by progress on the India–EU Free Trade Agreement, described by policymakers as the “mother of all deals”. The agreement is expected to reduce tariffs, improve market access for engineered wood products, and facilitate inflows of advanced European machinery, lowering production costs while enhancing export competitiveness.
Technologically, INDIAWOOD 2026 highlights the sector’s transition towards Industry 4.0 through automation-led manufacturing, advanced CNC processing, compact and upgradeable machinery, and digital production planning. Parallel emphasis on certified wood, bio-based adhesives and low-emission materials indicates alignment with global sustainability standards.
Co-located platforms such as Wood+ in Architecture & Design and the India Mattresstech & Upholstery Supplies Expo further strengthen ecosystem integration, supporting a furniture market projected to reach USD 40 billion by 2030.
