Meanwhile, the base-model iPhone 18 and a budget-friendly iPhone 18e are rumored to be delayed until the spring.
The headline feature of the iPhone 18 Pro Max is a massive overhaul to its rear camera assembly. For the first time in iPhone history, the main lens is tipped to move away from a fixed layout to feature a mechanical variable aperture system. This hardware upgrade will grant users precise control over depth of field and light intake, significantly reducing overexposure while yielding professional-grade background blur. Performance will be driven by the brand-new A20 Pro chip, manufactured using a cutting-edge 2-nanometer process. This processor promises a 15 percent bump in speeds alongside a 30 percent jump in power efficiency, perfectly complementing a larger battery setup and an upgraded, power-sipping LTPO+ display panel.
