Arunachal Pradesh Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to improving transparency, efficiency, and institutional excellence in the education sector. He reviewed key education reforms and infrastructure projects during meetings held at the Assembly office on Monday.
The minister examined the proposed recruitment rules for the post of Deputy Director of Elementary Education, which include provisions for promotion from the position of Block Education Officer. He said the discussions focused on creating a transparent, merit-based, and clearly defined promotional framework to strengthen administrative efficiency and provide better career growth opportunities for education department officers.
Sona emphasised that a strong and progressive service structure is essential to motivate officials and enhance the quality of educational administration across the state. He said the reforms would contribute to building a more effective education system.
The minister, who also holds the Rural Works Department portfolio, reviewed the progress of ongoing road connectivity projects in Shi-Yomi district. During the meeting, officials discussed the status of various projects and challenges affecting their implementation.
Sona directed the department to improve coordination among stakeholders and strengthen monitoring mechanisms for timely completion of development works. He also called for closer supervision of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) projects to accelerate implementation and ensure greater accountability. The minister said the government remains committed to expediting road connectivity initiatives in remote areas of Shi-Yomi district to improve accessibility and support the overall development of local communities.
