BJP and Tipra Motha, partners in the NDA alliance in Tripura, have agreed to coordinate their efforts during the upcoming Village Committee (VC) elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath said on September 20.
Nath chaired the third meeting on the Village Committee elections at the State Guest House, where alliance partners discussed campaign coordination and ways to address issues that may arise during the election process.
Speaking after the meeting, Nath said discussions focused on where and how joint campaigning could be conducted at the local level. He clarified that joint campaigning would not necessarily be required in every area and that the alliance would take a flexible approach based on local circumstances.
“We are giving emphasis to door-to-door campaigns, courtyard meetings, house meetings, market meetings and small gatherings. These programmes are mainly being organised at the local level,” Nath said.
He said the state-level meeting was held to discuss the possibility of joint campaigning, coordination between the alliance partners and ways of resolving election-related problems through joint efforts.
“The main objective is to mitigate the problems jointly,” the minister said, adding that the alliance would continue to coordinate to ensure a smooth campaign during the Village Committee elections.
Nath also said the discussions were being kept in the knowledge of Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, BJP state president Abhishek Debroy and Chief Minister Manik Saha.
