Led by Chairman Tarh Tarak alongside Commission Members Maji Chokar and Ngaasah Tangjang, the Arunachal Pradesh State Food Commission (APSFC) conducted official review visits to Leparada and Lower Siang districts to assess the implementation of the National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013. Meeting with district officials, including Leparada ADC Tamo Riba and Lower Siang DC Gobi Nyicyor, the statutory body evaluated foodgrain distribution, child and maternal nutrition schemes, and local grievance redressal mechanisms. To ensure seamless entitlement delivery, Chairman Tarak mandated 100 percent e-KYC updating and Aadhaar seeding for all Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority Household (PHH) ration cardholders, while urging proactive digital monitoring via the Poshan Tracker under ICDS. Addressing regional challenges, he noted that the Food Corporation of India (FCI) has been instructed to maintain surplus stocks in godowns to combat supply disruptions caused by harsh terrain and weather. Furthermore, the Commission highlighted plans to advocate for two new food sample testing centers in eastern and western Arunachal to tackle food adulteration, while committing to resolve infrastructural needs like PM POSHAN school kitchen sheds and cook honorariums in phases through inter-departmental coordination.
