Arunachal health minister in Chandigarh is seeking the expertise of PGIMER for the renal transplant programme

Arunachal Pradesh health minister Biyuram Wahge visited PGIMER Chandigarh to strengthen renal care services in northeastern region, enhancing collaboration with Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Science.

The minister visited PGIMER to train healthcare professionals from Arunachal Pradesh, marking the second batch of such training. The current batch aims to build capacity and skill development for establishing a self-sustaining renal transplant ecosystem in the state, following the previous team’s training.

Wahge urges Arunachal Pradesh to bring transplant facilities to the state, urging mentorship and support from PGIMER. Dr Vivek Lal praises Wahge’s dedication to improving health services, highlighting PGIMER’s commitment to structured training programs, observer opportunities, and shared clinical protocols.

PGIMER director outlines pathways for in-service doctors in Arunachal Pradesh, including sponsorship-based postgraduate training and short-term observer programs, extending successful partnerships with Indian Army.
