The Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh has declared a dengue outbreak, urging the health officials to take fast action. District Medical Officer Dr. C. L. Manchay issued a circular on November 18 instructing health teams to perform source-reduction, misting, and fogging operations in Tamla Nagar and Tribal Colony on November 19 at 3.30 pm. In addition to distributing instructional materials in local languages throughout impacted areas, the administration has stepped up efforts to raise public knowledge of dengue prevention, symptoms, and treatment.

There will also be community gatherings, a study on the use of long-lasting insecticidal nets, and a large-scale blood slide collection. The circular has been sent to top district and state health officials for appropriate action, and the DMO has encouraged Medical Officers, Panchayat leaders, and local NGOs to work closely together to contain the outbreak.
