Global Health Body Approves First Set of Standards for AI Use in Rural Health Clinics

The World Health Organization (WHO) today released its first comprehensive guidance on the ethical and clinical use of AI-driven diagnostic tools in primary healthcare settings. The report highlights how AI can assist rural doctors in detecting early-stage cardiovascular issues and respiratory diseases using simple smartphone-based scans. This move is expected to pave the way for India and other developing nations to integrate AI screening into their national health missions (like Ayushman Bharat) starting in the next fiscal year.
