A State-Level Math’s Olympiad was organized by the Department of Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh at the State Banquet Hall in Itanagar. This inaugural event aimed to promote analytical thinking and academic rigor among the state’s youth. The competition began with a preliminary round on March 22, featuring participation from 80 students across various educational institutions in Arunachal Pradesh. Following evaluations, the top four participants advanced to the Grand Finale held on Monday.
The final round showcased exceptional mathematical skills, with Thupten Eton, an M.Sc. Mathematics student at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), winning first place. Gama Dodum Gyamar, a third-year Civil Engineering student from NERIST, secured second place, and Marto Nyodu, a Class 12 student from Eleazer English School, took home third place.
All achievers received recognition in the form of cash prizes, trophies, and certificates for their logical reasoning and dedication to mathematics. Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated the winners, commending their hard work and analytical excellence, which he highlighted as a benchmark for their peers.
