Arunachal, Manipur, Meghalaya CMs thank Centre for additional funding to NE under SASCI scheme

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and his counterparts from Manipur and Meghalaya today expressed gratitude to the Centre for allocating funds to several northeastern states to accelerate development.
The Union government has earmarked Rs 25,000 under the ‘Pride of Hills’ component of the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme for the financial year 2026-27.
“My heartfelt gratitude to our visionary Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji and Union Finance Minister Smt @nsitharaman ji for allocating Rs 25,000 Cr under a new SASCI component ‘Pride of Hills’ for 9 Himalayan States,” Khandu said in a post on X.
“The allocation of Rs 4,900 crore for Arunachal Pradesh will help us improve fiscal stability and invest further in creating revenue generating assets,” he added.
“On behalf of the people of Manipur, I express my sincere gratitude to Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi ji and Hon’ble Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman ji for introducing the ‘Pride of Hills’ component under SASCI 2026–27,” Manipur CM Y Khemchand Singh said.
“The Rs 2400 crore allocation for Manipur will greatly ease financial constraints and accelerate inclusive growth. Grateful for this continued support to the North East,” Singh said.
Similarly, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for introducing the ‘Pride of Hills’ component under the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) for 2026–27.
“The initiative brings dedicated support to hilly states, recognising their unique challenges and strengthening ongoing efforts to drive inclusive and sustained development in Meghalaya,” Sangma said in a social media post.
