AkzoNobel Launches Project Revive to Drive Skill Building and Economic Growth in Northeast

AkzoNobel India, the makers of Dulux paints, proudly announces the three-year milestone of Project Revive, a flagship initiative aimed at transforming the lives of over 800 drug-rehabilitated youth in Assam, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh. Through vocational training in decorative painting, the program has created sustainable livelihood opportunities while driving community development.

Launched in 2021 in Manipur, Project Revive has expanded to Assam in 2023 and Arunachal Pradesh in 2024, covering 34 Drug Rehabilitation Centers (DRCs) across the three states. The initiative equips participants with professional painting skills, provides employment opportunities, and ensures post-training engagement to minimize relapse risks.

In Itanagar, the program is creating a new wave of market activity. Skilled painters trained under Project Revive are increasingly sought after by local businesses and households, boosting the demand for professional services in the decorative painting sector. This growth has also stimulated allied industries, such as home improvement and construction, marking a positive shift in the region’s economic landscape. Recognized at the 2nd North East CSR Awards 2024 in Guwahati, Project Revive underscores AkzoNobel’s commitment to sustainable development. Executive Director RohitTotla remarked, “This program is a testament to the transformative power of skill-building, helping communities unlock their true potential.”
