An untimely and sorrowful mishap shook Greater Noida West today when a father and his 11-year-old son fell to their deaths from the 23rd floor of a residential tower at the Mahagun Mywoods society in the Bisrakh police station area, identified as Randeep Patra (40) and Aarav (11), whose grieving wife explained that the family had planned a trip to Khatu Shyam this morning and the two had gone to the rain-slicked balcony to pick flowers for a religious ritual when the young boy slipped and was left dangling, driving the father to rush forward in a futile attempt to rescue his child, which resulted in both of them falling over the edge, leading local police to respond rapidly to the scene via a PRV dispatch, take them to the hospital where doctors sadly pronounced them dead, and subsequently begin the process of drafting inquest reports and sending the remains for post-mortem evaluation while investigating the sequence of events that left the whole neighborhood in profound shock.
