Arunachal’s Taba Yajo honored as Best Anganwadi Worker for exemplary service

Taba Yajo, an Anganwadi worker from the remote border village of Parsi Parlo in Kurung Kumey district, Arunachal Pradesh, has been recognized as the Best Anganwadi Worker for her remarkable contributions to community welfare under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) project.

The award celebrates Yajo’s tireless efforts in enhancing child health, maternal care, and community development despite the logistical and environmental challenges of working near the Indo-China border. Her work, guided by the Deputy Director of ICDS and the CDPO in charge of Parsi Parlo, has set a benchmark for grassroots-level service.

Yajo’s dedication extends to various critical areas:

Child Enrollment and Monitoring: She successfully enrolled children aged 0-6 years and adolescent girls aged 11-18 using the Poshan Tracker app, ensuring their nutritional and developmental needs are met.
Maternal Health Support: Conducting regular home visits, Yajo provides vital care and guidance to pregnant and lactating mothers.
Operational Excellence: Her Anganwadi center operates consistently for 21 days a month, offering reliable support to the local community.
Health and Growth Tracking: Through regular health check-ups, Yajo ensures the well-being of children attending her center.
Her exceptional work earned her a nomination from the Women and Child Development Department to attend the 76th Republic Day Parade in New Delhi as a special guest.

Appointed only a year ago, Yajo’s contributions reflect the visionary leadership of Deputy Commissioner Vishakha Yadav, known for transformative initiatives like Digi Shiksha, which introduced smart classrooms to remote schools in the district.
