The seventh edition of MTB-Tawang, one of India’s premier mountain biking events, concluded with vibrant participation from cyclists worldwide, highlighting the breathtaking landscapes and challenging terrains of Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang region.
Organized by the Arunachal Cycling Association under the aegis of the Cycling Federation of India (CFI) and sponsored by the Department of Youth Affairs, the event aims to promote grassroots cycling and nurture future Olympians.
The competition began with a flag-off ceremony attended by Tawang SP D.W. Thongon, who emphasized the importance of safety protocols. Cyclists showcased remarkable endurance and skill across multiple categories, navigating rugged trails that tested their mettle.

Men Elite XCO: Winner – Kushiman Gharti (Army Adventure Wing).
Women Elite XCO: Winner – Star Narzary (Karnataka).
Sub Junior Boys XCO: Winner – Dip Sagar Tamang (Nepal).
Day 2:
Men Elite Team of Two: Winners – Kushiman Gharti & Tsewang Norboo.
Sub Junior Boys Team of Two: Winners – Semmang Limbu & Dip Sagar Tamang.
The event celebrated health, tourism, and sportsmanship, reinforcing Tawang’s reputation as a global hub for adventure sports.
The closing ceremony, graced by Brigadier V.S. Rajput and Dr. Rinchin Neema, saw dignitaries lauding the participants and organizers for making MTB-Tawang 2024 a grand success.
