Paresh Rawal told Salman Khan will ‘shoot me happily’, while Aamir Khan ‘should know everything’: ‘Kabhi Kabhi Lagta Tha…’

In a recent interview, veteran actor Paresh Rawal opened up about his experience of working with Aamir Khan and Salman Khan in the cult classic comedy Andaz Apna Apna.
Rajkumar Santoshi’s 1994 cult classic Andaz Apna Apna featured two Khans, Aamir and Salman. The film featured Paresh Rawal in a double role, playing Ram Gopal Bajaj and his twin brother Teja.
In a recent conversation with Radio Nasha Official, the veteran actor opened up about his experience of working with Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. Paresh also spoke about how working in Andaz Apna Apna was different from his other comedy films.
Describing the two actors as a contrast to each other, Paresh said, “Salman has a very powerful charm and charisma of his own. He was like the wind. But, with Aamir, his way of working is methodical.
Salman will laugh and play and do it, Aamir has to know everything. So, sometimes it feels like there is a little bit of construction somewhere. But, when you see their final effect, it is amazing.”
When asked about laughing at his own jokes and punchlines while shooting for a comedy film, Paresh Rawal said, “I am really very lucky that Raj (Rajkumar Santoshi) gave me this film (Andaz Apna Apna).
When you do a comedy film, you don’t laugh during the shoot. Many people say Hera Pheri was very funny, but we didn’t even know. But this (Andaz Apna Apna) is the only film that we enjoyed even while making it.
The way our director was explaining every scene, we enjoyed a lot and we knew inside that it was funny.” For Paresh Rawal, it was disappointing that Andaz Apna Apna – which is being re-released in cinemas on April 25 – didn’t get the recognition it deserved upon its original release.
“It didn’t get the release it deserved, it was a misfire. So we didn’t get that good response. But, it has grown a lot in the last few years,” he concludes.
