Toyota Kirloskar Motor signs MoU with government of Maharashtra for new plant

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Maharashtra to explore establishing a Green Field Manufacturing Facility at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. This move aligns with TKM’s robust expansion strategy, following its recent Rs. 3,300 crore investment in Karnataka.

The MOU was exchanged between Dr. Harshadeep Kamble, Principal Secretary (Industries), Government of Maharashtra, and Sudeep Santram Dalvi, Director & Chief Communications Officer of TKM, in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and key TKM executives including MD and CEO Masakazu Yoshimura and Vice Chairperson Manasi Tata.

The proposed facility will bolster TKM’s commitment to green technologies and job creation. This development is poised to impact the Dimapur market positively, enhancing consumer access to Toyota’s advanced and environmentally friendly vehicles. The strategic location will optimize logistics, facilitating better service to Dimapur and other regional markets, thus driving growth and sustainability.”Today’s MOU signing marks a pivotal point as we stride into the next phase of growth in India,” stated Masakazu Yoshimura, MD and CEO of TKM.TKM’s continuous investment in India, including the recent third plant in Bidadi, Karnataka, underscores its commitment to “Make in India” and sustainable development.
