11th edition of Arunachal Film Festival opens to film lovers

The 11th edition of the Arunachal Film Festival (AFF) was inaugurated at TNZ Cinemas in Itanagar, marking a significant development in bolstering the state’s creative economy. This three-day festival, a cultural initiative organized by the state government through the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), aims to celebrate the burgeoning cinema scene in Arunachal Pradesh and showcase the remarkable talents of its filmmakers. Agriculture and Allied Minister Gabriel D Wangsu acknowledged the efforts of the DIPR in fostering the AFF for over a decade, expressing hope that this platform would serve as a vibrant showcase of Arunachal’s rich traditions and stunning natural beauty. The inaugural ceremony was attended by notable figures including IPR Minister Nyato Dukam, Commissioner Nyali Ete, senior officers from the IPR department, and a diverse group of filmmakers and artists from various states. The event featured the screening of the opening film, “Chausang On – The Little Monk,” attracting the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and MLA-cum-advisor Chau Zingnu Namchoom, along with other dignitaries, further highlighting the significance of the festival in the cultural landscape of Arunachal Pradesh.
