3rd Batch of ‘Agriculture 4.0’ Skill Training Concludes at CAU Pasighat

The third Batch Skill Development Training Programme on “Agriculture 4.0 Technologies: Building Next-Gen Agri Skills for Tomorrow’s Farms” concluded on Saturday at the 5G Training and Innovation Laboratory, College of Agriculture, Pasighat, under the Central Agricultural University (Imphal).
The seven-day programme was organised under the NABARD-funded project, “Empowering Youth and Women through a Pilot Demonstration of Agriculture 4.0 Technologies for Sustainable Farming and Farmer Welfare in Arunachal Pradesh.”
Twenty participants, including 13 boys and 7 girls from East Siang, Lower Siang and West Siang districts, received intensive hands-on training in emerging agricultural technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, 5G communication, Internet of Things (IoT), hydroponics, microgreens, agricultural drones, 3D printing, precision farming and agri-tech entrepreneurship.
The inaugural session was graced by Prof. R. C. Shakywar, In-charge Dean, College of Agriculture, Pasighat.
The valedictory function was attended by Prof. L. Wangchu, Dean, College of Horticulture and Forestry, Pasighat, as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Wangschu appreciated the initiative to equip rural youth with advanced agricultural skills.
The programme featured expert lectures from NIELIT, Amantya Technologies, Panjab University, Innovative Unmanned Systems, WOL3D, and faculty members of the College of Agriculture.
Participants also underwent practical sessions on IoT sensor integration, drone assembly and flying, agricultural mapping, and 3D printing.
The training was coordinated by Dr. Premaradhya N, Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator of the Agriculture 4.0 Project, under the guidance of Prof. Sanjay Swami, Dean, College of Agriculture, Pasighat.
The organisers expressed gratitude to NABARD for supporting the initiative and announced that the fourth batch of the Agriculture 4.0 Skill Development Training Programme will be conducted from July 13 to 20, 2026, providing another opportunity for students, rural youth and agriculture professionals to acquire future-ready skills in smart agriculture.
The initiative aimed to strengthen digital agriculture, promote innovation, and create skilled agri-tech professionals for sustainable farming in Arunachal Pradesh.
