BPCL and OIL sign an agreement to set up a city gas distribution network in Arunachal Pradesh

After Oil India Limited (OIL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) signed a joint venture agreement (JVA) to form a joint venture company (JVC), Arunachal Pradesh is expected to receive a city gas distribution (CGD) network. According to a statement released here, the project will build Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations and distribute Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to homes, businesses, and industries throughout the state. The project, which was given to the BPCL-OIL consortium in the 12th CGD bid round of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), aims to support the government’s gas-based economy vision by increasing access to clean energy and advancing the socioeconomic development of the northeastern state.

In the presence of OIL’s chairman and managing director, Dr. Ranjit Rath, and BPCL chairman and managing director, Sanjay Khanna, the JVA was formally signed at BPCL’s corporate office in Mumbai. “In order to service homes, businesses, and transportation, we will construct a robust city gas distribution network in collaboration with OIL,” Khanna stated. With this project, we hope to enhance quality of life, promote sustainable growth, and help India realize its goal of a gas-based economy. Arunachal Pradesh has a lot of promise,” he continued.
