Edtech company PhysicsWallah made a strong stock market debut on Tuesday, listing at a 33% premium on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Senior leaders attended the ceremony, where founder and CEO Alakh Pandey received enthusiastic applause, especially from his wife Shivani Dubey, seated in the front row. She later joined him on stage as CFO Amit Sachdeva praised Pandey for launching the vision that shaped the company’s success.
Shivani, who married Pandey in February 2023, was seen cheering as executives shared their remarks. Pandey has often referred to her as his “hum safar” (life partner). During the event, he reflected on the company’s journey and emphasized PhysicsWallah’s mission of discovering and nurturing hidden talent across India, saying that many potential innovators remain unnoticed in everyday jobs.
PhysicsWallah shares opened at ₹145, 33% higher than the issue price, valuing the firm at ₹43,453 crore. Its IPO was subscribed nearly twice on the last day of bidding. The listing follows robust market entries by Groww and Pine Labs and marks the first major edtech debut since challenges hit the sector, including Byju’s bankruptcy. Search interest surged on Google, with terms like “physics wallah share price” trending above 50,000 queries.
