Arunachal athletes to represent India in 8th Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship

Arunachal Pradesh celebrates as ten athletes from the state are chosen by the Ju-Jitsu Association of India to represent India in the prestigious 8th Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship-2024 in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from May 1 to 8. Chief Minister X extended his best wishes to the Ju-Jitsu team, expressing pride in the selection of Arunachal athletes for this esteemed international competition. He urged the athletes to focus on the game and give their best efforts, symbolizing the state’s support and encouragement.

The championship, set to commence on Friday, has drawn international teams to Abu Dhabi, with over 1,500 male and female competitors from 30 countries expected to participate at the Mubadala Arena from May 3-8. The event is being held under the patronage of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, affirmed the completion of all arrangements for the event, ensuring the readiness of hotels, training centers, transportation services, and the competition arena. He also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of professional volunteers in facilitating the smooth conduct of the championship.

Abdullah Al Zaabi, head of the Events and Activities Section at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, assured that technical and logistical plans are finalized, with subcommittees working diligently to ensure seamless execution. He extended warm wishes to all participating delegations for a successful and enjoyable experience.Jujutsu, a Japanese martial art, encompasses techniques for close combat against both armed and unarmed opponents, with a focus on subduing or incapacitating them. Its influence extends to modern martial arts and combat sports like judo, aikido, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, enriching their practice with its principles and techniques.
